About Us

Michael and I met in May 2008. Immediately, Michael's intelligence, humor and sincerity stood out from the crowd. We became very good friends. As the months went by I realized that I was in love with this man. However, I didn't think the feeling would be mutual. I was the "girl who liked her friend but didnt want to lose her friend by telling him she liked him" and he was "the guy that had fallen in love with his friend and didnt know how to tell her". We eventually found out the feeling was mutual and decided to take a trip together. We had been speaking to each other everyday for four months and we wanted a getaway to do something fun.

So we went to Michigan. It was either Michigan or New York and Michigan was having a Renn Faire and I really wanted to go. So we chose my birthday weekend so it would be a doubly special occasion. We hung out for a few days and we had the best time. We laughed so much. We just clicked. We have basically been inseparable since.

Christmas 2008 was a beautiful time for us. We hung out together with the whole family. We exchanged gifts, laughed, teased and joked together with everyone all under the same roof. Midnight games of Settlers and cut throat card games (laughs). Mountains of treats and pies and big stuffed bellies. It was wonderful to share in the love of his family. I think his parents are awesome and I really like his siblings. All in all I'd say it gave me something to look forward to in years to come.

On January 6, 2009, we became engaged. We are extremely excited about it. We dont know when we will be able to afford to get married in this economy but we will work it out.

Michael is the love of my life and song in my heart. He is the most beautiful person I have ever met and each day he gives me a reason to fall in love with him all over again.

Who is this woman Michael is so taken with?

I am many things. I love music, art and books. I love to write, travel and pursue my hobbies. I like to sew, am teaching myself to crochet, Katelyn taught me how to knit and eventually I would love to be a decent costumer in my spare time. I love gardening, cooking and baking from scratch, ceramics, jewelry making, soap making, candle making, canning and preserving, and herbology. I love doing things with my hands.

I enjoy Renaissance Faires and am a member of the SCA (Society for Creative Anacronism). I love video games, table top games and hanging out with friends. I love to laugh. I have a wicked sense of humor. I collect old cookbooks and love amateur photography. I love to dress up and take pictures and I love taking pictures of others. I love teaching and working with youth. I love dogs and cats. I love babies and little kids. I find little kids to be the funniest people on earth to talk to. Their view of the world is so wonderful and humorous.

I am registered as a Democrat but my political views are bottom left..a hair more left than Michael's. I am very proactive when it comes to doing things. If something doesnt exist then I seek to create it. I have a potty mouth at times and can curse like a sailor. I try to be good but most times I'm naughty. I love to be creative and express myself. I constantly change my hair and I dress how I feel.

I am a mother of three beautiful and intelligent children. Two boys and one girl. They live with their father until such a time as Michael and I are settled and can arrange to bring them to us.

Finally, as my father used to say, "I'm not hard to get along with; I'm just hard to do without." ~cheeky grin.

Even our shoes are in love.

Goes in for the kiss and ...clunk!

Yep she wears glasses!

OMG! He is going to kills us!

Breathe Michael! It's only 140 kph.

Hooray! I didn't kill her!

Have you seen the ads for the Intel-Chip Macintoshes? Quote: "For years, the intel-chip has been trapped inside PCs, dull gray boxes, dutifuly performing dull tasks".

Re politics and the future in general, read the article at this link: http://www.survivingpeakoil.com/article.php?id=soviet_lessons

And here is are a few particularily choice paragraphs:

"People in the United States have a broadly similar attitude towards politics with people of the Soviet Union. In the U.S., this is often referred to as "voter apathy", but it might be more accurately described as disgust with politics. The Soviet Union had a single, entrenched, systemically corrupt political party, which held a monopoly on power. The U.S. has two entrenched, systemically corrupt political parties, whose positions are often indistinguishable, and which together hold a monopoly on power. In either case, there is, or was, a single governing elite, but in the United States it organized itself into opposing teams to make its stranglehold on power seem more sportsmanlike.

In the U.S., there is an industry of political commentators and pundits, which is devoted to inflaming political passions, as much as possible, and especially before elections. This is similar to what sports writers and commentators do, to draw attention to their game. It seems that the main force behind political discourse in the U.S. is boredom: one could talk about the weather, one's job, one's mortgage and how it relates to current and projected property values, cars and the traffic situation, sports, and, far behind sports, politics.

Although people often bemoan political apathy as if it were a grave social ill, it seems to me that this is just as it should be. Why should essentially powerless people want to engage in a humiliating farce designed to demonstrate the legitimacy of those who wield the power? In Soviet-era Russia, intelligent people did their best to ignore the Communists: paying attention to them, whether through criticism or praise, would only serve to give them comfort and encouragement, making them feel as if they mattered. Why should Americans want to act any differently with regard to the Republicans and the Democrats? For love of donkeys and elephants?"

Now I would say that things are a little better in Canada, but not a whole lot. Still gonna vote, though, just so a to reserve complaining rights afterwards...
Dad

I've watched the second debate. We really need to get the liberals out of power, and as well prevent the conservative form getting in.

Good one, Michael!

We missed the debate, but it doesn't feel like we missed much. There don't seem to be any good choices to make in this election.

From "Schlock Mercenary"

I watched the first English Language Debate tonight. Somehow, this feels about right.

New Page just as a test AnotherTest

You should break it down by ( and ), then lookup following the keywords:

define
lambda
letrec
cons

and you should get it.

And puzzle I will indeed! --Dad, Sept 19/05

Hey Dad,

I've got a Scheme function for you to puzzle out:
 ( define inSort
( lambda ( sortList )
     ( letrec
       ( ( insertItem
           ( lambda ( item listIn )
             ( if ( or
                 ( null? ( car listIn ) )
                 ( >= ( car listIn ) item ) )
               ( cons item listIn )
               ( cons ( car listIn )
                 ( insertItem item ( cdr listIn ) ) ) ) ) )
         ( sortRec
           ( lambda ( listOut listIn )
             ( sortRec
               ( insertItem ( car listIn ) listOut )
               ( cdr listIn ) ) ) ) )
       ( sortRec '() sortList ) ) ) )
It's a linear insertion sort, scheme style.
